This Privacy Policy explains how Ayantra ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Ayantra mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Who We Are

Ayantra is an AI-powered mobile application that provides personalized astrology and horoscope predictions as well as health and wellness guidance. A core feature of Ayantra is its persistent AI memory capability, which, with your explicit consent enables the AI to remember past conversations, life context, goals, and preferences to deliver progressively more personalized experiences.

Information We Collect

01) Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account and use the App, we collect the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Phone Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Time of Birth (optional)
  • Gender (optional)
  • Location - either as a place name or geographical coordinates (latitude/longitude)

The above information is used to generate personalised astrological and wellness insights. Providing optional fields improves the accuracy and depth of the guidance you receive.

02) AI Memory Data

Your Memory

Ayantra stores AI memory, which may include previous conversations, user preferences, personal context voluntarily shared with the AI, and astrological context generated through use of the App. This data is used solely to provide continuity across interactions and to personalize the user experience over time.

03) Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we may also collect:

  • Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
  • Usage data (features accessed, Credits consumed, session duration)
  • Crash reports and error logs for app stability purposes

04) Payment Information

Ayantra does not collect or store your payment card details. Payment transactions are handled entirely by our payment processors (Razorpay, PayU, or Apple where applicable). We receive only transaction confirmation details such as order ID and payment status.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To generate personalised AI-powered astrology, horoscope, and wellness insights based on your profile data.
  • To provide persistent, contextually aware AI responses across sessions, where you have consented to AI memory.
  • To process Credit purchases and manage your account balance.
  • To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and updates to our policies.
  • To improve the App's features, performance, and user experience.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations under applicable Indian law.

How Your Birth Data & Memory Data Are Used: Your date of birth, time of birth, location, and AI memory data are used exclusively to compute astrological charts, generate personalised predictions, and maintain interaction continuity within the App. None of this data is used for advertising, third-party profiling, or sold to any third party.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under applicable Indian data protection laws:

  • Consent: You have given explicit consent by agreeing to these Terms and this Privacy Policy at registration. This consent covers all features of the App, including persistent AI memory.
  • Contract: Processing is necessary to provide the services you have requested.
  • Legitimate Interests: For fraud prevention, security, and improving our services.
  • Legal Obligation: Where required to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

01) Payment Processors

  • Razorpay: Processes UPI, card, net banking, wallet, and Google Pay transactions on web and Android.
  • PayU: Processes UPI, card, net banking, wallet, and Google Pay transactions on web.
  • Apple (In-App Purchase): Processes payments for iOS App Store users.
  • Each payment processor has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your payment data. We encourage you to review their policies.

02) Legal Disclosures

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ayantra, our users, or the public.

03) Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. You will be notified of such a transfer via in-app notification or email.

AI Memory - Data Handling & User Controls

01) Storage

AI memory data is stored securely on Ayantra's servers and is associated exclusively with your user account.

02) Your Controls Over AI Memory

AI memory is linked to the user account and cannot currently be deleted independently. If the user deletes the Ayantra account, all associated AI memory and personal data will be permanently deleted in accordance with the Data Retention and Deletion Policy.

Data Retention

  • We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services.
  • If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data (including all AI memory) within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes, which may be retained for up to 7 years under Indian law).
  • Anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you personally may be retained indefinitely for analytical and research purposes.

Data Security

  • We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
  • All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
  • AI memory data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption.
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only, on a need-to-know basis.
  • Despite our best efforts, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.

Your Rights

As a user, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including AI memory data.
  • Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data. AI memory items can also be corrected directly within the App.
  • Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. You can initiate this by deleting your account via Profile & Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing help@ayantra.ai.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent to AI memory processing at any time via your account settings.
  • Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format where technically feasible.

Sensitive Personal Data

Sensitive Data Notice: Date of birth, time of birth, gender, location, and AI memory data (which may include personal life circumstances, health context, and goals) are considered sensitive personal information under applicable Indian data protection frameworks. By providing this information and enabling AI memory, you explicitly consent to its collection and processing for the purposes described in this policy.

  • We process sensitive personal data solely for generating astrological and wellness insights and for maintaining AI memory continuity within the App.
  • We do not use sensitive personal data for advertising, third-party profiling, or any purpose beyond the App's core functionality.
  • We do not share sensitive personal data with any third party other than as required by law.

Children's Privacy

Ayantra is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If we become aware that a person under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us at help@ayantra.ai.

Third-Party Links & Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the App. Ayantra is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email to your registered contact. The effective date at the top of this document will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.
