This Privacy Policy explains how Ayantra (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Ayantra mobile application (“App”) and related services (“Services”).

By using Ayantra, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Ayantra is an AI-powered self-reflection and mental clarity companion that helps users navigate difficult phases, reflect on their experiences, and find greater clarity and perspective.

Information We Collect

01) Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account and use the App, we may collect the following information:

Phone Number
Email Address (Optional)

Your first name, last name, and phone number are collected during account creation. We verify your phone number by sending a one-time password (OTP) to that number. Your email address is optional and may be provided for purposes such as receiving your exported data.

Optional Information for Personalisation

If you choose to explore additional personalisation features within the App, we may ask you to provide the following information:

Gender
Date of Birth
Time of Birth
Place of Birth

Providing these details is optional. They are requested only if you choose to explore features that use them to personalise your experience and provide relevant insights and guidance within the App.

Information About Other People

Ayantra allows you to add information about other people to help you explore and reflect on your relationships and interactions with them. This may include:

Name: The name of the person you want to explore your relationship with.
Birth Details: Their date, time, and place of birth, if you choose to provide these details for personalised insights.
Gender: The gender of the person.
Relationship: Your relationship with the person, such as a family member, partner, friend, or colleague.

How We Use This Information

The information you provide about other people is used to personalise your experience and offer relevant insights when you explore your relationships and interactions through Ayantra. Birth details may be used to generate personalised insights based on astrological information, while the relationship context helps tailor the guidance to your situation.

Your Responsibility When Providing Information

You should only provide information about another person when you have a lawful basis to do so. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of their information complies with applicable laws and respects their privacy.

Removing Information About Other People

You can remove information about other people through the relevant features available within the App. Once removed, the information will no longer be available for future personalisation, subject to any retention requirements described in this Privacy Policy.

02) AI Memory Data

Ayantra may retain relevant information from your interactions with the App, such as conversation context, preferences, reflections, and information you choose to share.

This helps Ayantra provide continuity and more personalized responses across conversations.

AI memory is associated with your account and is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

03) Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

Device information, such as device type, operating system, and app version
Usage information, such as features accessed and session activity
Crash reports and error logs to help maintain and improve App stability
Technical information required to operate, secure, and improve the Services

04) Payment Information

Ayantra offers subscription plans that may be purchased through supported payment platforms.

Ayantra does not directly collect or store your full payment card details. Payment transactions are processed by the applicable payment provider or platform.

We may receive limited transaction information, such as transaction identifiers, subscription status, purchase status, and other information necessary to manage your subscription.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account, and verify your phone number when you sign in.
Provide and personalize the features and Services available through Ayantra.
Generate AI-powered self-reflection, perspectives, and guidance based on the information and context you provide.
Maintain continuity across conversations through AI memory.
Manage your subscription and related transactions.
Communicate with you about your account, subscription, service updates, and important policy changes.
Improve the App, its features, performance, and user experience.
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and unauthorized activity.
Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

How Your Birth Data & Memory Data Are Used

Your birth information and relevant AI memory may be used to personalize your experience and provide contextually relevant insights within Ayantra.

We do not sell this information or use it for advertising purposes.

Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable, we process your personal information based on:

Consent: Where you provide consent for us to process information for specific purposes.
Contract: Where processing is necessary to provide the Services you request.
Legitimate Interests: Where necessary for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and maintaining the App.
Legal Obligation: Where processing is necessary to comply with applicable laws or legal requirements.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share information with third parties only where necessary to operate the App, provide the Services, process transactions, maintain security, or comply with legal requirements.

01) Payment Processors

Subscription payments may be processed through the payment platforms supported by Ayantra.

These may include:

Razorpay - for supported web or Android payment transactions.
Apple In-App Purchase - for purchases made through the Apple App Store.

Each payment provider has its own privacy policy governing how it handles payment and transaction information.

02) Service Providers

Ayantra uses third-party AI service providers, including Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, and OpenRouter, to process conversations and generate personalised insights.

Depending on the features you use, the information shared may include:

Conversation Content: Messages and information you share with Ayantra.
Birth Details: Your date, time, and place of birth.
Information About Other People: Their names, gender, birth details, and relationship with you.

Explicit Consent: Ayantra obtains your explicit consent within the App before sharing this information with AI service providers. If you do not consent, features requiring such data sharing may be unavailable.

03) Legal Disclosures

We may disclose information where required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or government authority.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Ayantra, our users, or others.

04) Business Transfers

If Ayantra is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Where required, we will provide appropriate notice regarding such a transfer.

AI Memory - Data Handling & User Controls

01) Storage

AI memory associated with your account may be stored on systems used by Ayantra and its service providers.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect this information.

02) Your Controls Over AI Memory

You can review and delete your saved memories at any time from [Settings → Memory]. A deleted memory is permanently removed from Ayantra’s database and is no longer used in your conversations.

To generate responses, Ayantra shares relevant information, such as your messages, memories, birth details and information about people you add, with our AI model providers: Google Vertex AI, OpenAI and OpenRouter. They process this information only to generate responses for Ayantra. They may keep it temporarily under their own data-retention policies.

Deleting a memory removes it from Ayantra’s systems only. Ayantra cannot delete information held by AI model providers. That information is governed by their privacy policies:

If you delete your account, all AI memory is deleted from Ayantra’s systems as described in Data Retention and Account Deletion.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and fulfil other legitimate business purposes.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information, including associated AI memory, within a reasonable period, subject to applicable legal, regulatory, security, and operational requirements.

Certain information may need to be retained for a longer period where required by law or necessary for legitimate purposes, such as transaction records, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance obligations.

Information that has been anonymised so that it can no longer reasonably be associated with you may be retained for analytical, statistical, or service-improvement purposes.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.

These measures include:

Encryption of data transmitted between the App and our servers.
Encryption of your conversations, AI memory, and personal information when stored on our systems (encryption at rest).
Access controls limiting access to personal information to authorised personnel and service providers where necessary.
Security monitoring and measures designed to identify and prevent unauthorised access or misuse.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are also responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including your phone number and the one-time codes (OTPs) sent to it. Never share an OTP with anyone. Ayantra will never ask you for one by phone, email, or message.

Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including:

Right to Access: Request information about the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.
Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Right to Data Portability: Export a copy of your information in a structured, machine-readable format directly through the App (see Data Export below).

Data Export

You can request a copy of your account data directly through the App:

The export is sent as a zipped JSON file to the verified email address on your account. You must verify an email address before requesting an export.

The export includes your account and profile details, birth data and charts, conversations and AI memory, preferences, and subscription and transaction records.

To protect your account, the number of export requests you can make in a 24-hour period is limited.

Account Deletion

You can delete your Ayantra account directly in the App. For the steps, the 15-day waiting period, and what happens to your data, please refer to our Account Deletion Policy: https://ayantra.ai/account-deletion

Sensitive Personal Information

Some information provided through Ayantra may be personal or sensitive in nature, including information relating to your birth details, gender, location, personal circumstances, reflections, or information you voluntarily share during conversations.

We process such information only for purposes connected with providing, personalising, securing, and improving the Services, or where otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising purposes.

Children’s Privacy

Ayantra is intended for individuals aged 18 and above.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.

If we become aware that an individual under 18 has provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information in accordance with applicable requirements.

Third-Party Links & Services

The App may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites, platforms, or services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of those third parties.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access or use.

Ayantra is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party services that are outside our control.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, data practices, technology, legal requirements, or business operations.

If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App, by email, or through another appropriate communication method.

The updated version will include a revised “Last Updated” date.

Your continued use of the App after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India.

Any disputes relating to this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, subject to applicable law.
